As a newcomer to this forum, I feel that it is time to make a small contribution.

I found in iTunes an interesting BBC podcast about Goldberg Variations:

iTunes > Podcasts> BBC Soul Music> Podcast No 33

Several individuals talk about what Goldberg means to them; and once you are there check out the podcast about Beethoven's violin concerto. It will remind you of a recent non-fiction book,  "The Soloist".
